Destiny is a story of last defenders of humanity. It is the 700 years after future of mankind, when they have been spread out and colonized other planets of solar system. This era is know as Golden age, and it ends as a result of "the collapse". But the only survivals are those living on earth. Just like ubisoft in for creating influential characters like Aiden Pearce in Watch Dogs, Bungie is trying to get it more oriented towards the power being possessed. They are trying to protect the last city on the earth They are further divided into 3 types.

1. Humans are social and tough.
2. Awoken are described as beautiful and mysterious.
3. Exo are powerful, tireless and undead.

The first reference to Destiny game was given in Bungie's 2009 Halo 3. Bungie has signed the joint publishing of Destiny with Activision.
